Who We Are

A Family Legacy of Art, History, and Care

The word mélange means “a mixture,” and that spirit has always been at the heart of our shop. Founded by Sheryl Campbell in 1978, Campbell’s Mélange grew from a lifelong love of art, history, and beautiful things. The name itself was chosen with the help of her daughter, Melisse, who, at just seven years old, consulted her French teacher for inspiration.

Over time, the business became a true family endeavor. Sheryl’s husband, Bob, joined after retiring from his family’s button and fabric company, earning the affectionate nickname “The Button Man.”

Today, Campbell’s Mélange is led by second-generation owner Melisse Campbell. With a degree in History and Southern Studies, a Master of Mass Communication, and an auctioneer’s license, Melisse brings both scholarship and storytelling to every consultation. She educates clients about each piece, its origin, craftsmanship, and journey, helping it find its next meaningful home.

Our mission remains simple: to help people find something beautiful for their homes, pieces that inspire, enrich, and endure.
